I have worked within the Care industry for over 23 years, working with a wide range of individuals with learning disabilities/ difficulties whom also have a diagnosis of Epilepsy. In 2012 my daughter was diagnosed with Epilepsy. This gives me a unique insight into both professional and personal experience of the condition and someone who can deliver training with prior knowledge.

Background of Clinical Pharmacy and working in Health and Social Care as CQC Registered Manager since 2014.

As a passionate teacher and trainer with over a decade of experience in education and 18 years as a Registered Nurse specialising in Learning Disabilities, I am dedicated to improving the lives of individuals affected by epilepsy. This dedication has been the driving force throughout my career, where I have nursed and supported individuals with epilepsy across various settings, including private hospitals, NHS facilities, care homes, residential homes, and day centres. Recognising that many individuals with epilepsy in the community are supported by dedicated support workers rather than registered nurses, I took the initiative to further my expertise by training as a Buccal Midazolam Instructor. My goal is to equip healthcare professionals—regardless of their background—with the essential skills needed to manage epilepsy and emergencies effectively. This training empowers them to respond appropriately during a seizure, provide first aid, administer anti-seizure medications (ASMs), and know when to call for emergency assistance, thereby enhancing their capabilities and confidence. I am deeply committed to enhancing staff competency in epilepsy care, ensuring that individuals receive the highest standard of support. My training programs, designed to be both practical and applicable, focus on hands-on skills and theoretical knowledge. By providing tailored sessions that can be delivered directly to teams, I empower organisations to elevate their care standards.
